Beach House Terrace

Sydney Beach House Terrace was a BillyBlue design project to improve interior visualisation skills and understanding the relationship between lighting and materials. The concept of this project was a luxurious Moroccan holiday set in Sydney's renowned beachsides. This design features arched shaped walls and columns of a Morrocan palace, a rectangular pool parallel to the horizon to cause an illusion that it's connected to the sea and lighting with lantern and floor spotlights  to offer a bold and dramatic atmosphere at night.

The most valuable lessons from this project were that the design space is also influenced by its external environment. The sunlight path, time of day and type of location. The path of the sun will influence the nature of shadows in terms of direction and depth as well as the atmosphere. Light can also be thoughtfully placed to enhance materiality. This project was constructed with the program 3Ds Max were skills related to materiality and manipulation of light were developed.
